Salvia divinorum isn’t just a plant—it’s a portal. The first time I tried it, reality opened like a book, and I became time itself, flipping through pages of existence I was never meant to see without deep meditation. Salvia’s archetypes are vivid, immersive visions that feel like universal truths beyond human understanding. In this blog, I share the archetypes I’ve encountered in my own journeys—sacred, surreal, and humbling.

Ancient Roman Colosseum
One trip thrust me onto a conveyor belt in a blinding white void, gliding past an endless row of ancient Roman colosseum archways. Each arch passed through me, sacred and heavy, like a forgotten memory I was only just recalling. The stone felt alive, humming with the weight of time, as if I’d stumbled into a collective dream where my soul was on trial. I wasn’t just seeing the arches—I was part of them, my essence woven into their ancient structure. It left me wondering if these colosseums are always there, hidden in the folds of consciousness, waiting for us to remember.
Spirals
I recurringly see spirals on Salvia. Often, reality cracks open, fracturing into a swirling vortex, and I become the spiral itself. My essence stretches across its infinite curves, each turn a life, a moment, a truth I’ve always known but forgotten. I know its shape without seeing it, like a memory etched in my soul.
Turning into objects
One of Salvia’s most profound lessons is what it feels like to become an object—literally. My sense of self dissolves, and suddenly, I’m no longer a person. I am the world. I’ve been a wall, a leaf, the sky itself this whole time. Once, I became the entire garage, feeling the building’s shape through my own structure, as if my identity had bled into reality itself. There’s no “me” observing—just being, merging, dissolving. The line between subject and object vanishes.
Another time, I was a skyscraper in a black void, outside of time itself. I was frozen in a moment that stretched forever, yet somehow moved. I controlled the elevators, the tiny characters inside, every detail of this towering form. It was alien, impossible to explain, but the memory is still so vivid. These experiences taught me that objects—the walls, the air—are all us. Salvia strips away the illusion of separation, showing how fluid everything truly is. You don’t just see it—you can feel it. This is threatening to a system that relies on people clinging to their identities, roles, job titles, and social status. Maybe that’s why governments fear psychedelics. They show us we’re not the labels we’re given—we’re part of something boundless, and that truth would completely dismantle the power structures that keep us divided. Yellow Plastic World
Another recurring vision I experience is a place made of yellow plastic—sacred, fake/different/otherworldly, like a toy store. It feels synthetic, alive, and laughing at me. This isn't just a visual, I've seen this exact same place multiple times, and is documented throughout various Salvia artwork online such as on SalviaDroid.
Entities Beyond Comprehension
I’ve met beings so incomprehensible they make us seem like a speck of dust that could just be discarded at any time. We're so small and insignifant to them. I felt insignificant yet seen, like it was watching over me with curiosity, not judgment. At lower doses, I don’t see it, but I sense its presence. It’s humbling, knowing something so immense is out there watching over me. Or maybe they are me, just different parts of ourself.
Being Unzipped
One of the most surreal archetype I encounter is the zipper. Sometimes, you might watch reality unzip like a literal zipper zipping reality as it reveals the true nature behind. Or sometimes, you are the zipper itself, unzipping reality. Or you might be the one being unzipped, and you feel your body unzip in half.
What I’ve Learned
These archetypes—colosseums, spirals, zippers—have changed me. They’ve shown me reality is fragile, a thin veil over something so incredibly vast and strange. I feel smaller, but also connected to something bigger, like I’ve glimpsed the source code of existence. Salvia demands respect; it’s not a party drug. It’s taught me to approach life with reverence, knowing there’s so much we're not yet ready to see.

AuthorHi, I’m Callan Hansen—just a guy driven by curiosity and a passion for exploring the deeper layers of existence. I started making games at 10, mostly because it was fun, but over time, it turned into something much bigger—a way to help people connect with parts of themselves they might not even realize are there. Beyond game development, my experiences with Salvia Divinorum have opened my mind to some eye-opening ideas about reality, connection, and the things we can’t always see or explain. A Quick Note About This Blog and My Book:Just so you know, everything you read here comes from my personal experiences, but I’ve used AI to help me get my thoughts across more clearly. It’s just a tool that helps me organize what I want to say, but the ideas and stories are all from me. I wanted to be upfront about how things came together. Thanks for taking the time to read my journey—I really appreciate it.
